Hi Mike,
We don’t have that setup on the product but it’s a good idea. I’ll talk to our tech team about it.
We’re currently building a new mbl app that kind of sits around that automated space. So that kind of feature would be on our road map.
Cheers

yes it would be great. I'm using bullet for 2 businesses; one of which (web design business) is moving from WHMCS to Bullet. WHMCS is clunky, but one thing it does do is send automated reminders.

    Yep it's good thinking.
We're a pretty small team (3) so we tend to focus on one area for say 2 months and then the next. It's also a pretty complex product so it takes a lot of time to build in it.
Invoices got a big update there about 3 months ago, reviews, header images etc, prior to that it was to-dos, now it's the app, then it's world domination. :)
    How are you finding Bullet?

It is excellent. I'm a software developer (and now doing more web work), so I get what you're doing from the technical point of view, but the UI makes all the admin I have to do for 2 businesses so much easier.
I havent really used much beyond the invoicing yet, a bit on the payments side, and no bank rec stuff yet, but it definitely has changed my habits, since it isnt such a chore to enter the stuff in, my "admin i have to do someday" pile is a bit smaller

Thanks Mike, I'm glad it's helping out. When the Irish banks roll out API's next year we can start importing and automating your rec's.
Bullet is pretty much Xero with a big layer of UX on top of it. That UX contains all the accounting logic.
So although you're just tinkering around you're actually building your full management reports, mid year tax returns etc. Pretty much what a chartered accountant would do.

The benefit of that people aren't really feeling but when year end tools come out you will.
We're also bring our a new bot mobile app and a tool to automatically reduce your tax bill! So we're getting there, there isn't a lot of crazy things you can do with accounts :)

well i'm happy so far & your plans all sound good.

one point of pain , which will be true for anyone changing accounting systems, is getting the initial values, trial balances, outstanding invoices, etc into bullet from a previous system. even if you cant automate that (which would be great), a tutorial/video explaining how people should go about that would be helpful, and for those who pretty much know but arent 100%, it would at least give some reassurance that they're not gonna lose something in the transfer.

Sure that's a good point. There is no easy way to do it, and we target new biz as a lot of people won't move products due to anxiety. So that's why we haven't put a lot of focus on it.
But we could do a better job. What were the main things you were anxious about then you moved.
I'll create a guide around that. If you'd like use to feature your biz in it we can.
    Something like this

Yes, I’m happy for our business to be used as an example like that. I need to do some more work getting our old balances etc across first so I know what I’m talking about. What I’ll do is start documenting some of that, so that we’ll have specifics to use in the guide.
Let’s talk again about this in a month or two, once I’ve had time to get further with that.

Cool. Just a list of the questions you have and we'll do the rest.

    Talk then.
