Hi all, I’m looking to put in an opening balance for a client. Can’t seem to find the button to do that although it’s probably right in front of me.

Ha. That’s my job to say that.
Go to bank account (bottom left) and you can add a balance there.
That help.

Hi Pete, The only two options on the bank a/c are 'Overview' and 'Bank Transfers', neither of which give me the option to add an opening balance to an existing account.

Click on the bank account. At the bottom you'll see the Edit button. Click that and you see opening balance.

Ah ok, my bad for not explaining it properly. I need to add an opening balance to an existing Customer account, not a bank account.

Ok. There are two ways to do that.
    1) Just create a 'paid' invoice for the client and call it opening balance.
    2) Use journal entries.
If your not familiar with journal entries. The stick with 1).
    That help?

Perfect. Didn't think of the journal entries (having a Homer moment). Thank you very much. Enjoy your evening. Mary :)

    Cool you too Mary.
You find Journal Entries in the top nav. Under 'Accounting & Reports'.
