Hi Pete, I’ve changed to ltd company and am setting up a new account on bullet. I usually login with my id for the sole trader and want the email login for the ltd co to be with new idbut it says there is an account already with that user id. might have been when I tried to add multi user a while back. Is there any chance you could free up that id for me?

Ok so you’re trying to create a new company account using your ID but Bullet says that already exists?

  3. Braden5 January 6, 2017
    thanks
  4. Peter Connor January 6, 2017
Ok you set it up on the 31/08/16.
It's saying "Ben & Anvil", is the company associated with it. Is that the new company or sole trader company?
  5. Braden5 January 6, 2017
its the same business name. I set up the original bullet account about two years ago
  6. Peter Connor January 6, 2017
Ok so that's your sole trader company?
  7. Braden5 January 6, 2017
when I log into the sole trader account the menu bar reads Ben & Anvil. So do I have a second account called Ben & Anvil?
  8. Braden5 January 6, 2017
    what have i done...!
  9. Peter Connor January 6, 2017
You broke the internet. Jesus, you better hide.
  10. Braden5 January 6, 2017
    gah!
  11. Peter Connor January 6, 2017
Ha let me check. To remove that account I have to remove the company associated with it, if it's your sole trader account I don't want to do it.
  12. Braden5 January 6, 2017
Yeah, wouldn't be good to lose all that lovely data
  13. Peter Connor January 6, 2017
Is the new company vat registered?
  14. Braden5 January 6, 2017
Not yet. Incorporate the company on 28th oct, still waiting to hear about VAT registration though. Am I better off waiting til I get vat registered before setting up the new account?
  15. Peter Connor January 6, 2017
No you can migrate it from Non VAT to VAT in Bullet just not the other way around.
So you did register for VAT you just haven't got confirmation?
  16. Braden5 January 6, 2017
Yeah, our accountant is doing it but they are a bit forgetful.
  17. Braden5 January 6, 2017
Sent a reminder today, but who knows.
  18. Peter Connor January 6, 2017
Ha, cool. We'll if you want a good accountant let me know and I'll put you in touch. Young, ex EY and chartered.

    2 Sec's let me check.
  19. Peter Connor January 6, 2017
Ok, I'll need to get the dev's to delete it from the database. It's connected to another account and I can't delete accountants only companies.
You can create the company now if you need and just migrate once we delete it. That only takes a second. We should get it deleted tonight.
  20. Braden5 January 6, 2017
Okay, cool. I'll set up the new one tomorrow, just to keep it simple. So I'll still be able to log in to the sole trader? And I can create a new account tomorrow Then in the future migrate to Vat Reg?
  21. Peter Connor January 6, 2017
    So,
1 Don't do anything till I get back to you
2 After that you can setup a NON vat account on Bullet
3 When your accountants registers you for VAT just click 'Tax, Register for VAT' and follow the error proof workflow.
Super simple so nothing to worry about +1
  22. Peter Connor January 6, 2017
Request has gone into tech, so I should be done in tonights update
  23. Braden5 January 6, 2017
Brilliant. And I'll still have access to the old sole trader one
  24. Peter Connor January 6, 2017
Yep, you'll have to log out and log in with each account. If they were two limited companies you'd be able to jump between them but sole trader and limited accounts are two different types of companies. So it's log out and log in :(
  25. Braden5 January 6, 2017
That's perfect, cos I'll be ceasing trading with the sole trader anyway, so only need it for doing taxes in Jan. Thanks a mill for all your help!
  26. Peter Connor January 6, 2017
Cool. It's free so keep it for ever. You've to keep it for 5 yrs anyway.
  27. Peter Connor January 6, 2017
    Hi,
Tech just got back to me, they can't delete the user name because it will cause bugs in the system, as we that address will have tasks/actions associated with it. So it's like pulling a pin in janga.
But, there is a easy work around
Create a new company using any email address x@y.com
    Add the multi user app
Add old id as an admin.
    Log out
    Log in as new user
    Disable x@y.com
Either cancel the multi user app (you get 30 free days) or just like it time out.
Hope that helps, and sorry for bringing you up the garden path.
    Pete
  28. Braden5 January 6, 2017
    Hi Pete
Thanks for the work around you outlined for me last week. I'm only getting around to it now
  29. Peter Connor January 6, 2017
    Let me have a look. 2 sec's.
  30. Peter Connor January 6, 2017
    Hi,
I logged in using both accounts ok. So you might have just used the wrong password.
If you've forgotten the password or made a typo creating it, just follow the 'forgot password', link at the bottom.
    Thanks Pete
