How to record a direct cost – Free Online Small Business Accounting Software Questions & Answers

Hi
I am trying to record a bill for some Materials bought (Goods sold or used in items sold to customers) The category Materials (direct cost) is not an option when processing invoice from supplier.
How do I record this bill?

Hi. we found the bug. If you delete’s the Materials account, and recreate it, it will then be visible in the category dropdown in the bills – the bug is that the default “Materials” account we automatically add to people’s companies isn’t visible in the category dropdown.

    Thank you for that Pete however the system wont allow me to delete MATERIALS. Error message: "You cannot delete this account as it is used explicitly by the system"

    Anyway round this or should I just create another Expense direct cost account with a different name?

    For the moment, if you create a different direct cost account, we will fix this in the background so that it will work in the future.
