Invoice Footer – "Generated by www.bulletehq.com"

Invoice Footer – Free Online Small Business Accounting Software Questions & Answers

I must be missing something, but I can’t seem to find the option to remove from the bottom of the invoice, “Generated by http://www.bulletHQ.com”

It used to have the company number there I think, now it has the weblink. I am a sold trader, i.e. no company number is that makes a difference.

  1. I have a follow up BUG report this also. The "generated by http://www.bullethq.com" line cuts across the bottom of the invoice in the online view mode, i.e. when clients would be viewing it. It seems to be find though when it is downloaded as a PDF.

If there was an option to upload an image with a question, I could show you a screen shot.

Hi Richie,
The generated by Bullet will be an option you can remove when you sign up to the premium invoice app.
If you just screenshot and use a product like tiny pic or any of the “image to url” free sites.
We’ll have a look at that bug then.
We’re just rebuilding all the invoice engine, have about 23 updates to make.
Thanks for the update Richie, don’t forget to upload that screen shot.

Hi Pete - I've just activated the invoice app to my account, mainly in order to remove the embedded footer "generated by Bullet". However, new invoices that I create continue to display this notice? Thanks for you help, Jonny

    Hey J,

How are you. Sure, go into invoice settings and create a new invoice template and set it as default - that way you'll get the new invoice.

Let me know how you get on.

That makes sense, sorry for my absent mindedness! I'll give creating a new invoice template (sans co-branding - though I've nothing against promoting Bullet!) a lash. Cheers

Ha, well if it made sense this conversation wouldn't have happened. New invoicing coming soon just in test at the moment.

    Thanks J.

Here is a screen shot of the problem.

Some more points:
1.  I have already signed up for and paid for the multiple branding options. So it is a disappointing that I will have to pay extra again to have the invoices that I create advertising free. If the advance option is another €10 per month, then it is starting to make Sage look attractive again.

Surely what ever “advanced invoice options” that you would be releasing would be needed by the same people who want to sue multiple brandings, so at least have the options in both. As a sole trader, I have no problem paying €10 a month for a service. But one of the main reasons I left sage was that it was €27 a month for a lot of stuff that I didn’t need but would have covered me. So if Bullet is slowly going down that path, then the reasons to swap over are diminishing.

2. I have two brands set up. The default brand seems to have the “generated by…” bit at the bottom, yet the other brand does not? They are both using the premium template.

3. I don’t seem to be able to edit the default template option, or select a different template.

Hi Richie,
I’ll answer your points here.
1.1) We’ll have a look at that bug, that shouldn’t be happening.
1.2) The 9pm should remove that, so that might be a bug. Let me investigate.
2) Ok I think I know the problem now, the first default brand is actually your company details standard with all accounts. The new (on the right) brand is your premium brand, hence the link is gone. You could create a new branding with the default company on the left and it should fix your problem.
3) That should be answered in above.
We’ve 28 points of redesign on the invoices that we’re carrying out now. The UI & UX around the templates is poor, so we’ve taken feedback from about 60 people (more is welcome) and are implementing those now, better templates, more focus around the clients, better search, goals etc.
The problem you’re hitting around the brandings is problem we’ve tried to fix in Bullet. Some people call brands, companies, tradings names etc. Then we also have the company details, we use them for the accounts.
So picking language that everyone understands has been tricky, while also making sure you’re not breaking the law and automating all your accounts!
So, let me know if creating that new brand with the default info fixes those problems. It should.
Hang in there with us, we’ll have a much better invoicing engine in the next 2 months (only payments currently in test).
I’ve applied 30 days credit to your account for the hassle Richie, so that should give you 58 days for free.
If you’ve any more feedback please send it on to peter at bullet hq dot com.
Thanks man.

  1. Hi Peter,

Got it sorted, now, I see what happened. You are right, there are two default invoice templates, one premium and one free.

When I added the advanced invoice app, the default company invoice template does not get upgraded automatically. Perhaps you can add an option to make it clearer that users need to create separate invoices and use the premium template etc. See Screen shot below:

The "generated by bullethq" is gone from the premium template, which is what I was looking for. So for now. I think all is good.

Some other invoice template suggestions, ( perhaps you are already working on them:
    1. Allow option for company address to be on more than 2 lines, would look a little neater

    2. Allow option to remove qty / unit columns from template to save space. I.e. for service providers, creatives or other people who may not provide something in a set quantity and can just enter whatever the product is in the description

    3. Option to edit / add payment details, to add instructions to offer, cheque, credit card payments, paypal etc. These could be typed in by the users as they needed. Sage has a nice option for this.

    4. Option to add additional terms on invoice. For example as a photographer, I generally say that "Copyright remains with the photographer at all times" etc. etc. I also add that late payments will results in late fees and interest charges.

Thats all I can think of for now.

    Thanks Richie,

They're great points. Thanks for taking the time to write that out, I'm just running over the invoice design and have added your points into our review document.

You should see some changes soon.

    Thanks again.

    Pete
