before I started using Bullet I used Xero but when I started using Bullet and brought in my bank statements it brought in some of the last transactions from the old system so now my BankRec never adds up for me. There is a payment from IEP that was on my old accounts, the vat was paid on it etc but I don’t know how to take it out of Bullet. Can you look into that for me or let me know what to do. Also, there have been a few jobs over the years that are now dead and the client refused to pay and fec’d off. Is there a way of marking those as ‘DEAD JOBS’? If you have to add the word wankers to that category feel free :) I just want to get them off my due amount so that I can see a clearer picture :)

So you can remove items from your bank rec. Either bulk items or single items that will stop it appearing in the rec – here is short animation I made for you.
You can’t say wankers on the internet scream . I don’t miss that side of client work!
So what you need to do is click on those invoices and on the right you’ll see “create credit note”, that kind of cancels them. You’ve probably heard of double entry accounting, debits, credits etc. Everything you put on the left you have to put on the right. So the credit note is the right to the invoice on the left.
Here is another little animation on how to do that, mark it as a discount (not refund) and showing you how to add a little note.
Hope that helps.

Pete
PS is this Aileen?

    Aileen, your nuts.
Ha. I was thinking surely this new book keeper isn't calling clients bastards! Ha.
No it doesn't mess up the accounts, it balances them (left - right - debit - credit)
  7. info22 May 8, 2016
    I am nuts!!!!
  8. Peter Connor May 8, 2016
No problem - the note is just a reminder for you if your accountant asks in a year
  9. Peter Connor May 8, 2016

How do you snap your receipts at the till or do you do them all in one on a friday say?
How do you track your mileage?

    1. Oh God I'm SHITE at this. I keep an envelopes on my desk with the month on them Jan-Dec and add the recipts into them when I find them. Then I tot them all up and write up an expense sheet and add them as a Monthly expense to Bullet - Aileen January Expenses etc.
  13. info22 May 8, 2016
    2. I keep a track of all the meetings I go to and write up a mileage sheet usually at the end of the year and add them monthly also. Aileen Mileage January etc
  14. info22 May 8, 2016
    3. There is only 2 of us here so we just chat over the desk lol :))) We use a really good system called Teamwork for tracking all hours on jobs and any communication between us and clients is done through that :)
  15. Peter Connor May 8, 2016
Cool. Do you keep your client meetings in Google calendar or a notepad?
  16. info22 May 8, 2016
    Neither, we use iCal

    Your so 1990.
Cool we'll be updating the iphone app to be like a what's app for accounts. You'll be able to message your accounts product /balance /outstanding etc and we'll tell you. Like magic but not!
We'll also be ditching the mileage tracker on it and integrating with Google calendar which has Google maps built into it - so the mileage will be done automatically now.
On top of that the new app is kind of built on a slack clone and we were going to offer that to teams as an app. Bullet will be built into it so you can like the app have a chat with it /hours20 and we'll add 20 ours to that project etc.
But, looks like you're already sorted. Envelopes Aileen don't make me drive out to Swords.
Thanks again for your time. Anything I can help with let me know.
    Pete
