Hi John,
What does the person do who said the balance sheet was wrong?
Did you click on the item to see what it was, sounds like you added something wrong.

    Can you see our accounts?
  2. hirsch.john30 October 3, 2016
It says there is 261,003 in our bank account
  3. hirsch.john30 October 3, 2016
    And credit card payables 214,033
  4. Peter Connor October 3, 2016
You can use manual journal entries to add an investment. We have a workflow for loans and directors loans but investment can be handled in all kinds of ways so manual journal entries are required.
You'll find them in the top right with Accountant & Reports. If you're not familiar with MJE then get an accountant to do it for you.
  5. Peter Connor October 3, 2016
    I'll have a look.
  6. Peter Connor October 3, 2016
I see you've 261,003.19 in your bank account and 214,033.16 as credit card liabilities. We'll have a future look into this.
    I'll get back to you.
  7. hirsch.john30 October 3, 2016
Yes - needless to say we don
  8. hirsch.john30 October 3, 2016
I need my accounts to make an application for an Intertrade Ireland scheme today/tomorrow
  9. Peter Connor October 3, 2016
Ha. Well your banks balance would be wiped out with your credit card bills!
  10. hirsch.john30 October 3, 2016
Yep! I need to get better understanding of this. Will it take long to resolve ? As I need to include accounts with the application?
  11. Peter Connor October 3, 2016
We'll we looking at it now. If it's a bug it usually gets rolled out at night.
    When is your application due.
  12. hirsch.john30 October 3, 2016
I just rang to see when the next board meeting is. It's Tuesday but we'll miss that because the applications were already posted out to the board members. So the next one is the 25th October. So there is time
  13. Peter Connor October 3, 2016
Cool. I had a look at your credit card liabilities and they're correct remember it's all transaction on your credit card since 22/03/2013. So they amount to €214,033.16 which is correct.
  14. Peter Connor October 3, 2016
Your total debits on your bank account are since 09/08/2013 are €315,372.10 and your total credits are €54,368.91
    €315,372.10 - €54,368.91 = €261,003.19 which is the correct number in Bullet.
So both numbers are correct, the confusion might be because the numbers didn't show up with a minus sign or parentheses.
Our accountant reports are for technical accountants, companies office etc.
I'll get John will explain that better for you, but the report is correct.
  15. hirsch.john30 October 3, 2016
That's strange because our Development Adviser in Enterprise Ireland said the balance sheet should reflect whats in the account today. And that they were not right.
  16. hirsch.john30 October 3, 2016
We have around 7K in our account today - though I know I have some outstanding expenses to put in etc...But that doesn't show or does it somewhere?
  17. hirsch.john30 October 3, 2016
She said it shouldn't be rolling
  18. hirsch.john30 October 3, 2016
BEcause I said I thought that was what we earned in total since we started and she said it should be that
  19. hirsch.john30 October 3, 2016
It should be an actual reflection of today at one point in time
  20. hirsch.john30 October 3, 2016
So I said Ummmm... I didn't know. Except that I thought they were rolling
  21. hirsch.john30 October 3, 2016
Also we are not in debt
  22. hirsch.john30 October 3, 2016
We are +7000 so we couldn't have -214,033
  23. hirsch.john30 October 3, 2016
We have a lot more payments in than €54,368.91 since 2013
  24. hirsch.john30 October 3, 2016
Already this year our turnover is 114,000 in the accounts
  25. Peter Connor October 3, 2016
    Hi John,
So traditionally businesses would close off accounts. But, that's a practice more designed for large companies that write off debt etc.
We built Bullet for small business, they run their business day to day week to week. So we give a live view of the accounts.
If you want to find out how you did over 12mts we let you set dates in the reports, or you can export them to excel and do all kinds of magic to them.
With respect to development adviser she's not an accountant, the reports are designed for accountants.
Like I mentioned John will come back with a better explanation as to why it reads the way it does.
    Thanks Pete
  26. hirsch.john30 October 3, 2016
    Great Pete, thanks very much!
  27. Peter Connor October 3, 2016
Sure, technical side of accounts is complex. That's why we built Bullet. We get a lot of accountants questioning the product, turns out they're always wrong.
We had a Revenue Auditor in a company yesterday, complementing the product. Not often Revenue are happy.
Anyway. John will give you some answers. I've dealt with development advisers and accounting isn't in their skill set, indeed they told us Bullet was impossible to build. It's not a requirement for them to be accountants so unfair to expect that knowledge.
So we'll give you some base line answers, your accountant will be able to answer the detailed ones better.
    Thanks Pete
  28. hirsch.john30 October 3, 2016
Thanks Pete. I just need to improve my skillset so I can understand and better explain our accounts!
  29. hirsch.john30 October 3, 2016
I will get back to her with an explanation after John gets back. Also we will be working with a new accountant whom we will ask for some training
  30. hirsch.john30 October 3, 2016
    Thanks
  31. hirsch.john30 October 3, 2016
Well done on the great review from Revenue.
  32. hirsch.john30 October 3, 2016
BHQ saves me so much hassle.
  33. Peter Connor October 3, 2016
Focus on growth John. F. the rest of it. What's what were here for.
  34. hirsch.john30 October 3, 2016
By the way. is there an easy way to input expenses? By scanning them? I thought I heard about taking a photo of them
  35. hirsch.john30 October 3, 2016
Cool! That's why I love BHQ
  36. Peter Connor October 3, 2016
Do you have an andriod or iphone?
  37. hirsch.john30 October 3, 2016
    iPhone
  38. Peter Connor October 3, 2016
We have our android app ready to go live and are just working on our iphone all. Here is a work around till then.
    Hi,
We updated our security in accordance with Apple for our iphone receipt tracking app.
Apple have identified a bug which they're fixing, here is a work around for your receipts http://goo.gl/8bnfHR (refresh the page if you don't see the movie)
We're currently working on a new version of our app, the Android version is out of Beta and soon to be released. Apple won't be too far later.
Sorry for the issues but it's a bit out of our control. We'll let you know when the new app is released.
    Thanks Pete

    Hi John,
The balance sheet is always a rolling amount to the date that you run the report for. You can compare with previous periods, or you can use the trial balance if you're looking for nominal account changes between 2 dates. The Credit Card payables means that you've told Bullet you paid for that much stuff using a credit card. However, you've never recorded that you paid a credit card bill, so bullet still thinks you owe 216K on your credit card. You can record credit card payment in the Add a Bill link under the Money Out section.
