Hi, I think I might have cancelled my query with you there. Just wondering can I bring up a full debtors list of what customers have not made payments by the due date? And if so, can I print it off? Thanks

Hi,
No ticket gets deleted. They’re called outstanding invoices.
You can see the tab on the invoice dashboard.
You can also see the status in the invoice export, so you can export invoices and filter by status.

Hope that helps
Pete

I can see Export Invoices and it allows me to click on it. I can't see a tab for Outstanding Invoices on the invoice dashboard: there is Overview, Create Inv, Create Rec, Create Est, Create Cr Note, Invoice Settings, Export Inv.

I just checked that - you're right it doesn't. I've added that to the dev's update list so that will get done.
In the meantime you can just click on the overdue tab and click File > Print in your browser window.
  3. csmaccoun22 February 20, 2016
Thanks. The overdue tab is not allowing me to click on it. This is perhaps due to the fact that there is nothing overdue at present? I am only setting up my clients at this point.
  4. Peter Connor February 20, 2016
So why would you want to print a report that doesn't exist?
  5. csmaccoun22 February 20, 2016
Ha! Good point. I'm investigating how it works as I am inputing my clients. Learning as I go.
  6. Peter Connor February 20, 2016
Great. Well bullet is designed for play. We don't produce any help files the software has everything you need. So just play around with it - it's very simple.

    Thanks and enjoy

I'm trying to add another organisation and brand name. But CSM at the top of my page is not allowing me to click on it to add another brand name.
  8. Peter Connor February 20, 2016
The top of the page is new company not new brand.
Where in a company is a brand normally very prominent. Bils, Payroll, Receipts, Bank Accounts, Tax, Banks or Invoices?
  9. csmaccoun22 February 20, 2016
We have a completely different account base for Mini Music Academy with separate bank account etc. Can I set that up here or do I need to have a separate account with Bullet HQ?
  10. Peter Connor February 20, 2016
Is this current Bullet account a limited company?
  11. csmaccoun22 February 20, 2016
    No - sole trader
  12. Peter Connor February 20, 2016
Is Mini Music Academy a limited company?
  13. csmaccoun22 February 20, 2016
    nope
  14. Peter Connor February 20, 2016
Is this company owned by the same person as Mini Music Academy
  15. csmaccoun22 February 20, 2016
    MMAf - 3 traders CSM - 2 traders
  16. Peter Connor February 20, 2016
    So you've a partnership?
  17. csmaccoun22 February 20, 2016
    yes
  18. Peter Connor February 20, 2016
So you can't use Bullet. When you signed up there was an option for Sole Trader or Limited Company, no partnerships.
They're rare and usually only used in old professions like accountants, solicitors.
You'll need to talk to your accountant and get him to recommend a product to you. I've actually don't know what you could use, probably one of the old ones like Big Red Book or Sage?
    I'm not sure, sorry.
  19. csmaccoun22 February 20, 2016
well it's not a legal partnership. it's myself, my husband and my colleague
  20. Peter Connor February 20, 2016
So maybe it's just 3 sole traders working casually together.
You all sign-up to Bullet and manage your money in/out like that. There is no greater entity, your just 3 people working together.
  21. csmaccoun22 February 20, 2016
so sign up MMA as a separate account to csm
  22. Peter Connor February 20, 2016
    What's your name?
  23. csmaccoun22 February 20, 2016
Mini Music Academy and Castleknock School of Music
  24. Peter Connor February 20, 2016
Ha, no the person I'm talking too?
  25. csmaccoun22 February 20, 2016
    Eileen Brogan
  26. Peter Connor February 20, 2016
Eileen, nice to meet you. I'm Pete.
So let me explain something things to you and then everything will make sense.
  27. Peter Connor February 20, 2016
    Limited Companies:
These are an separate entity to people. You can own a company, you can work for a company but that company is separate to you or your husband.
    Sole Traders:
They are the company. So if you're a sole trader running Mini Music Academy and Castleknock School of Music then both those are just trading names to which point back to Eileen Brogan.
They have the one set of accounts, one return etc etc and only one person can own it. The Sole Trader.
    You can still have employees.
    Partnerships:
Is a group of sole traders
  28. Peter Connor February 20, 2016
Does your husband own it and you and your college work for him?
  29. csmaccoun22 February 20, 2016
Hi Pete, nice to meet you too. I'm the director of the school and my husband manages the accounts. It's really sole trader. The big thing is, the invoices that we send out for CSM and the invoices that we send out for MMA have a different logo on the top. So, I need to set up a different account on Bullet in order to send invoices out with the separate logo right? Thanks for all your input by the way.
  30. Peter Connor February 20, 2016
Eileen, you can't be a director of a Sole Trader's company. That's legally impossible. A sole trader is a sole trader. You might need to look at that.
So to answer your question. You can add multiple brandings to the invoices by using the "enhanced invoicing app".
Just click on invoices and then add a new invoice template you'll be asked to ass the app which is €9.99pm for unlimited templates, you can take online payments, create recurring invoices etc.
All the invoices bill will be in the one set of accounts. Like I explained above, they're all the one legal entity.
    Hope that helps Eileen.
  31. csmaccoun22 February 20, 2016
Ok Pete, that's all really helpful information. I suppose Principal of School more adequately describes my position. I see what you mean about the legal aspects of that. I'm a musician so not to up to speed on legal jargon. Will take a good look at this and talk to Pat about it. Thanks a mil and have a good day, Eileen
  32. Peter Connor February 20, 2016
Sure, no problem. Just in our world those words mean a lot if you start the accounts package on the wrong foot it will be a disaster.
Talk to Pat and found out what the story is. Thanks Pete
  33. Peter Connor February 20, 2016
    Hi Eileen,
Just to follow up on running an overdue report on outstanding invoices.
Overdue invoices do appear in the export - but status field does not indicate whether an invoice is overdue, its due date does. You just needs to sort by due date and filter out PAID invoices. That will show all invoices pending payment.
    Hope that helps.

    Pete
  34. csmaccoun22 February 20, 2016
    Ok thanks Pete
  35. Peter Connor February 20, 2016
    Sure no problem.
  36. csmaccoun22 February 20, 2016
One query: Pat (my better half) is a bit worried that doing invoicing on an online system - suddenly everything could vanish never to be seen again (he's especially worried because it's free - which is great but he doesn't understand why it's free. It would be really a disaster if we lost all our account information. I take it that's not possible?
  37. Peter Connor February 20, 2016
Ha, I'd say Pat is off buying a farm of Red Roses for the 14th...
So I'll answer your questions below.
    Bullet Vanishing:
Well we run payroll so that means we hold PPS numbers. That hits us with certain data protection issues we'd to comply to. That means we have to keep the service up for 7 years should anything happen. We've prepaid for that hosting.
Our servers are hosted on two sites, one is private and one is with Microsoft, Nasa host there too! That's not to say our site won't go down or will have to be brought down for maintenance but it's unlikely to cause any issue. The internet is our bread and butter and we attract people who use the internet all the time. So it's in our interest to keep them happy.
Ask Pat what would he prefer. All his accounts sitting on a PC in your office that everyone has access to and if it breaks there is no in house knowledge to fix it. Or his data sitting in a billion dollar service centre and a team of technical professionals making sure it's all working 100%
    Why Free:
That's more a marketing pull. People don't value accounts infact they resent it. When they look at Bullet, Sage, Big Red Book, they don't really understand the difference between them and they don't care so they look at price and go "hmm Bullets free", then they try out Bullet and find it's a better product. Decision made!
Also most people start on excel, excel is free.
We make money from our apps. Payroll, Enhanced Invoicing, Multi User mode. All of these apps are designed to be used when the business is up and running.
So we make money when you make money
  38. csmaccoun22 February 20, 2016
Wow! Sounds really professional - fair play to you guys. I'm told you are irish too? That true? (off buying a farmful of roses for valentine's - hmmm! I wish! Will certainly pass on the notion though and he will be relieved to hear all that. We do appreciate this online facility so you know we just though we should have to pay for it. But we probably will avail of some of the paid things you do when we get into it and become more familiar with it. Thanks for that Pete.
  39. Peter Connor February 20, 2016
Yep, but we don't really care about being Irish. We just want to build the best small business accounting product in the world. If that makes sense.
Well there you go. That's the whole idea :)
  40. csmaccoun22 February 20, 2016
Ha! Yes but the reason that you want to do that is because you are Irish - it's in the genes! thanks for the rose!! I reckon you'll get there too!!
  41. Peter Connor February 20, 2016
    Ha. Thanks Eileen.
