How to get it into Bullet, simply use the invoices (marked as paid).
You can do this daily, per event, monthly etc. Just a paid invoice. Nice and simple.
  2. That's great - also I input an opening balance for the bank account and yet when I go into reports and select balance sheet it does not inclyde the opening bal (the bank transactions are reflected in the balance) Can you advise why this is the case?

Hi Susy - The opening balance figure for each bank account is only to help you match what you would expect against reconciliations. If you're looking to enter values that will be the "opening balance" figures on the balance sheet, you'd need to enter these as a manual journal entry. If you are transferring from existing accounting software, you could take a trial balance as at the particular date you are looking for transfer, and then input that information as a single manual journal entry in Bullet.
