Hi, I have just changed an employee from Class A to Class J. I then created a new Wage for him. I would have expected that there would be no Employers PRSI but there is and the amount of Tax & PRSI has increased. Is this correct?

Did you create the employee from the p2c file or manually.

Sorry, I see that the overall tax has actually decreased but there's still a bit of employer PRSI

It was originally imported from p2c file, but I manually change class from A to J

this is what my accountant told me to do

Sure, I don't think the class is in the p2c file that's why we've the wizard.
If Bullet's telling you that figure then it's right. It's heavily tested. Payroll always look weird as it's cumulative so when you hit cut off points amounts change etc

Hi Pete, not suggesting there's something wrong with the calculations - just looking for clarity. It's ok though, will talk to my accountant. Thanks

Oh I know that. I'm just saying that the Bullet breakdown you see is it.
You accountant should be able to answer any Q's you have on it. Just always make sure you use the P2C file :)
