Hi, I posted this question here, was asked to post in the forum which I did, and was told to come back here… so {clears throat} here is my question: I would like to tidy up the items in the money out section so it more accurately reflects my business… Category field in line 1 – how can I edit the list of items in there? thanks.

I don’t have any other history of a question from your account on our help desk. 
Was the question answered on the forum? 
You can edit the Chart of Accounts (That’s what the categories are) by going to Accountant & Reporting Tools. But, these are used for your Management Reports, and aren’t just for organising your accounts. 
We’ll be bringing our custom fields in the new year which will allow you tag Money in/out for projects, trips etc. 
You can change your Chart of Accounts – but it has a knock on effect with your Management Reports so we don’t recommend it.

    Hi, I followed those instructions, and tried to delete a few items which are just not meaningful to my business. But despite there being a delete button, it won't let me delete. I tried it on quite a few but no joy.

    Hi Maryrose. Those categories are used in your management reports and tax returns. They can't be deleted.
    You can create your own and delete them.
