hi, if a GB company charged me 20% VAT, how should I account for it?

Hi, They can’t charge you VAT at 20%. Just let me double check.

    yep you can just ignore it. VAT is a local tax.

    You'll need to enter the full bill amount into Bullet but you'll have to pick the zero rate of VAT. You can't claim that VAT back.
  3. the first thing i bought with vat so i assume i should have told them not to add?

    Yep they shouldn't have charged you VAT. But, VAT can get complex in the EU. Sometimes they have to bill you sometimes note.
    Anyway
    Enter the full Bill into Bullet
    Mark the VAT at Zero
